DiEM25 is heading to Rome, to form a new progressive and internationalist party, with its "head" in Europe and its "roots" in Italy.

The traditional Italian Leftist formations have failed: for decades they have created empty electoral placards, decided by the party leadership and on the basis of personalities. Of course they all fell apart the day after the elections, leaving practically all the social demands they tried to represent unresolved, and society increasingly frustrated and disillusioned.

For these reasons, we will give birth to MERA25 in Italy, opening a long political and organisational path with the aim of creating a political space that will allow us to bring to the electoral level, and then to the institutional level, the battles that DiEM25 leads in society and that will offer a home to the hundreds of thousands of people
who feel unrepresented by politics and current organisations.
