Webinar: Digital Technologies and the GNDE

The Event

Hello friends,

I would like to invite you to sign up for the upcoming webinar about ‘Digital Technologies and the GNDE’ with Christoph Schneider on the 5th of March at 8pm CET. Christoph contributed this topic to the GNDE ‘Blueprint for a just transition’.The webinar will consist of an initial presentation and a Q&A.
The presentation will cover: - Digital technologies as key sites and forces for societal changes - any project for a more democratic and sustainable society and economy must have a vision of how to entwine these technologies with other changes.- Sustainability aspects of digital technologies: on the one hand they pose a huge problem for sustainability, boosting resource and energy consumption and providing powerful tools for accelerating economic growth. On the other hand, some digital systems could be foundational for more democratic and sustainable ways of organising the economy.- Digital politics is infrastructural politics thus contributing to the core agenda of GNDE of changing energy, mobility and financial infrastructures and helping to widen the coalition, as a politics for more sustainable and democratic digital technologies is not only good for the climate but helps to protect and enhance civic liberties and human rights. This webinar will be recorded and shared on our GNDE Podcast platform.
