2023 a été l'année du plus grand nettoyage ethnique près de l'Europe depuis les années 1990. Il s'est produit dans le Haut-Karabakh (Caucase du Sud). Largement éclipsée par la guerre en Ukraine, puis par cette autre guerre à Gaza, cette épuration ethnique est l'aboutissement d'un conflit qui remonte à 1988.

L'Europe, comme la Russie, porte une lourde responsabilité dans cette issue. L'indifférence et l'inaction de l'Europe face à ce conflit nous apprennent beaucoup sur le fonctionnement de l'Europe et sur ce qui attend les Européens s'ils ne repensent pas la manière dont le continent est gouverné.

2023 was the year of the biggest ethnic cleansing near Europe since the 1990s. It happened in Nagorno-Karabakh (South Caucasus). Largely overshadowed by the war in Ukraine, and then by this other war in Gaza, this ethnic cleansing was the culmination of a conflict dating back to 1988.

Europe, like Russia, bears a heavy responsibility for this outcome. Europe's indifference and inaction with regard to the conflict teach us a lot about how Europe works, and about what lies ahead for Europeans if they do not rethink the way the continent is governed.
