The Netherlands is home to one of the largest and dirtiest steel plants in Europe: Tata Steel. The factory stands in the middle of a densely populated area. 150 thousand people and children live directly under the toxic clouds of Tata Steel. Lung cancer is up to 50% more common in the area and younger children are more likely to suffer brain damage.
The government is supposed to protect us and future generations, but fails to enforce on major polluters. Even the most toxic parts of Tata Steel are allowed to remain open. These plants are rusty and old. There are frequent incidents where toxic clouds are released.
That is why we are joining the mass action organized by local residents and Greenpeace to stop Tata's pollution! Register below to be part of the DiEM25 affinity group.
