In Germany, federal elections will be held on February 23. The bourgeois parties in Germany are united behind the genocide in Gaza. At the same time, the grave dangers of fascism are rising through the AfD, which has been facilitated by Germany’s ruling parties lashing out against migrants, Muslims and Palestinians. Connected to this is the matter that German state’s imperialist interests reach far internationally: for years it has supported the Egyptian military dictatorship, which plays a central role in the oppression of the Palestinians in the region.
What can internationalist solidarity in this context mean? How can we combine the movements against fascism in Germany and in solidarity with Palestine and the Palestinian struggle to Egyptians political prisoners?
Discussing will be:
Melanie Schweizer (Candidate for Parliament, MERA25)
Johannes Fehr (Candidate for Parliament, MERA25)
Hossam el-Hamalawy (Egyptian Revolutionary Socialist)
and Moderated by:
Mohammad Abbas (Egyptian Solidarity Movement)
