Original Organising Principles:
The first VC members’ tenure lasts for six months. After the first six months, half (50) of the VC members are replaced (again by a random draw among members who declared their interest in becoming VC members). A fresh draw takes place every three months, ensuring that each VC member has a tenure of six months (except the inaugural VC members who serve longer) and that half of the VC membership is refreshed every three months.
Change to:
VC members’ tenure lasts for 12 months. Every six months, half (50) of the VC members are replaced by random draw among members who declared their interest in becoming VC members. If this rhythm ever breaks and has to be restarted, or if more than 10 VC members have dropped out by mid-term, a random draw may select the number of missing VC members for 6 month tenures.
Add as second-to-last paragraph:
The VC will sometimes be asked to pass judgement on a member (for example meeting requirements for a particular role or assessing a case brought to them based on the Code of Conduct). In cases that are unclear, VC members should appoint two representatives (one woman, one man) to question the people involved. The coordinator of the VC, usually a member of the CC, will organise and moderate a video call for this purpose and record it. The video is made available for all VC members to make their final decision.
